Story 1. The other day Michelle and I watched the movie 'Lars and the Real-Girl'. It's about a man who develops a delusion that his internet ordered life-sized doll is real and he's dating her. It's full of touching moments where the town tries to help Lars and his very fragile grip on reality. I liked it and maybe you will too.
Story 2. When Michelle and I were coming home from the movies and we decided to stop at Tim Hortons. While Michelle saved us a seat, I lined up to get us some stuff to drink. There was a man in line who was trying to get the attention of the couple in front of him. He turned to me and explained that he had dropped his loonie, at that moment the woman had looked down, discovered the loonie and picked it up. Now he couldn't get their attention because they were ignoring him. We laughed for a bit about it, as the couple continued to ignore us. I told him that 'you win some, you lose some' and he took it all very philosophically.

I really like thanksgiving. I like it because it is a time when family gets together for no reason other than to hang out and to catch up. I like it because the leaves are all orange and red and yellow and they paint the world vibrant. I like it because it will always be the anniversary of when I went down on one knee and asked Michelle to marry me. I like it because Michelle said yes.

Chapter 1
There was a boy: my age, my characteristics, yet with a defining issue... like a fear of monkeys.
Chapter 2
Circumstances are clarified: maybe he works in a zoo or something.
Chapter 3
Empty lead in chapter: he cleans rhino poop, brushes lions' teeth, then comes to the monkey pit.
Chapter 4
Climax: GIANT MONKEY BRAWL, throw in phrase 'Rhesus Christ! They're huge!'
Chapter 5
End of story: find they have a lot in common, make up, lounge around and eat bananas.

Update: I went to a Hindu wedding last weekend and there was lots of food, and dancing. Michelle got to meet up with some of her old pharmacy friends. Speaking of Michelle, she is now a registered pharmacist so any drug-related questions you have can be directed her way. As for myself. I am still working in Mississauga for Tricom on aircraft simulator stuff. It's going okay. Google has set up a prize for any company that can send a rover to the moon and have it drive around a bit and send back footage. I've got my eye on that $20 million.
So, that's it.
Jay out.
p.s. I also bought some roof racks. I bought them from the states to save some money so I was pretty pumped when they arrived safely.

Today is August 25th 2007.
Not much is up. I just thought that I'd write in my blog because it is nice to do at times. Maybe I'll philosophize for a bit... Nah. That's kind of boring.
The other day Michelle and I had some Indian food and then we went to see the movie Stardust. It's a fanstasy movie, probably aimed at the people who liked the Princess Bride but are now grown up.
Other than that... new Futurama DVD's are coming out this november and next year. It'll be pretty sweet. Umm. This fall is the first fall where I'm not heading back to school. That's something. Actually, it's the first fall in 20 years where I'm not going back to school. I have 20 years of education. That's a lot.
Anyway I'm going to go read some Count of Monte Cristo, which I've got on the go. It's nice revenge tale. I think I'll try to update my blog a bit more often.
See you later.

New things:
I bought a car.
My sister, Melissa, is getting married.
My father is getting married in just over a month.
I got a job.
Poem:
I stab the ground with a twig.
Tossing dirt until the twig breaks.
What a pointless event.
Poem 2:
Dirigibles drift downwards
Flashing a firey inferno
That tumbles towards tonight.

The other day Michelle and I went to visit Melissa, Mark and Maryann in Mississauga. There we had a barbecue with sausages and corn on the cob that was quite delicious. And then we ate some Galaxy chocolate bars from Wales. We also played the wii which Maryann had not played before.
Then yesterday Maryann had a test for a potential job. Since she was downtown we decided to meet up. We walked down to the Eaton Centre after her test where we ate huge helpings of Teriyaki Chicken. Once we were sufficiently stuffed we decided to walk around. It took us a while but eventually we found a flower shop where Maryann bought Melissa and Mark some flowers. They were pink and white. After that I was Maryann off at the Dundas TTC station. Then I went home.

Today is Friday May 18th, 2007.
Recently I have been looking for a job, an aerospace engineering job. As of yet, the search has proved fruitless. But oh well, I'm sure something will turn up if I just keep hacking away. I am also fine tuning some of my engineering software skills so that I can brag a bit more in my resume.
My summer frisbee team is starting up next Tuesday. Michelle and I were trying to come up with a name for it. I suggested 'The Destructors'. Then Michelle mentioned that 'The Disctructors' was funnier. And, damn, I gotta say it is!
Other than that, not much is up. I've just been sitting around and thinking and trying to get a job.

I am now 25. That's pretty neat.
This weekend I'm going to Sudbury with Michelle to visit some of her buddies. It'll be an northern adventure.
Today I have frisbee. My team frisbee team is pretty good. They're called the Dirty Sand-Chairs. How base.
I wonder if I'll always think like this. Unstable, fast thoughts. Maybe, like a fine wine, it'll get better with age... through fermentation.

Easter stuff.
Last weekend I went home for Easter. It was pretty sweet. I ate a chocolate bunny Michelle gave me and we stayed at my mom's house from Thursday to Saturday, then Michelle had to go back to TO to work. I hung out in Peterborough, ate food with my mom, watched Toronto get knocked out of their playoff spot, and ate Turkey at dad's. Also, I dug up the septic tank lids and moved some branches from mom's backyard. Then, I got a ride back to Toronto from Roland on Monday.
Yup, that pretty much sums up my weekend.

Update:
This is an update. I have handed in my thesis and it's accepted so I've got my masters. I'm still working at UTIAS though, cause I've got to finish up a paper. Hopefully that'll be done by the end of this month. I've just got to sit down and write it, but I'm pretty lazy.
So that's what's new with me.

Tomorrow I am supposed to have dinner with Michelle and her friends out in Whitby. But then I just remembered that I have a hockey game scheduled tomorrow. I had a little bit of a panic trying to figure out what to do and how to have my cake and eat it too. Would this be the end of my awesome day? .... Then I got an email saying that my hockey game was moved to Friday. Awesome... awesome to the max!
I just need to hand in my thesis now and I'll be all done. I'll keep going in to U of T though, 'cause I need to finish up a journal paper, but I can use that time to find a job. So this is pretty cool.
That wraps up about 20 years of school for me. I'm a highly tuned mind-brain thinking machine.
I'll probably get a normal engineering job to start with and then later I'll make a space-ship building company and conquer the stars. It'll be sweet. Also, I'll buy a moped.
But for now I'm going to head out and get a rrrroll-up-the-rim cup of timmy-hos coffee and win a toyota camry hybrid.

Word up boyz and gurlz!
It's time for Jay's blogtastic blog of the day. I was just sitting here at home thinking about stuff. And then I got to thinking about how I think in circles, how my mind always traces its own steps. Perhaps my brain is not the free-flowing thought tool I once perceived it to be, but rather a pattern following machine unoriginal and contrived to the max.
But who cares about that, I think I'm going to post up some entertaining links. 'Cause everyone likes an entertaining link*.
1. My favorite online radio station CBC3
2. Video: who wants to be an Amerikan
3. Fainting Goats!!!!
4. My favorite restaurant finding site
*I don't guarantee that you will be entertained.
So that's it for now.
I'll go back to looking for jobs.

Mediocre Man stands at center stage in a yellowish-brown suit. Frantic Boy bounds onstage and looks at the audience with his hands on his hips.
Frantic Boy - Why the brown suit, Mediocre Man?
Mediocre Man - Because today (raises an index finger skyward) I am Medium-Ochre Man!
Audience Groans.
Lights fade to black.

6 Weird Things About Me
1. I sometimes imagine lines extending off the edges of walls, desks, and pointy things, and I make sure that I step over them.
2. I am a compulsive doer. I get agitated when there's anything I need to accomplish, but once I get it done I get a surge of relief.
3. I am completing my master's in aerospace engineering, but I hate school and always have.
4. I have learned how to break in to every house and apartment I have lived in, because I chronically lock my keys in my room.
5. It is my personal ambition to build my own spaceship.
6. I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

Stress
I am one with the stress. I take in the stress and use it to create something more powerful, more complex, something resembling a thesis. The stress and I dance in harmonious unison. One misstep in the chaotic swirling and I will be swept away. So I will not misstep and I will hand in that fucking thesis in a week and a half.
